AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a unexpected partnership that defies conventional forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "An unusual confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of prohibited practices and monstrous transformations resonate through the darkness." The narrative presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a hidden group.
The mission focuses on "strange experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Metamorphoses
The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Material
Players who finish the adventure will receive an unique katana together with several objects concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Update
This patch also adds the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic techniques: Naoe debuts a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
